If you have ever wondered where to begin or deepen your yoga practice in a city that hums with life and history, this might just be the place.
Discovering Yoga at Sala Rapsodia : A Unique Experience in Bucharest
Sala Rapsodia is not your typical yoga studio. Nestled in the Old City Center of Bucharest, between old churches and iconic buildings, it offers a serene escape from the urban rush.

The moment you enter, the atmosphere shifts.
It’s a space designed to nurture both beginners and seasoned practitioners alike.
Classes are tailored to help you reconnect with your body and mind amidst the city's pace. Feeling quiet - but alert.
If you are an expat or someone new to Bucharest, finding a community that feels like home can be challenging. Here, you will find a welcoming circle of like-minded souls, all seeking the same peace and clarity, making it easy to fit yoga into your busy life.

Why choose this Yoga practice?
This is not about flashy moves or quick fixes. It’s about cultivating a sustainable, mindful approach to health and well-being.
In order to learn the recovery of your energy and regain optimum mindset you must first learn to relax - and in order to relax you must learn how to disconnect. Whether you are a student, an adult seeking stress relief, or a senior looking for gentle movement, the classes are adapted to meet your needs. The practice emphasize neuro-muscular control and skelatal alignment, study of breath possibilities , and the subtle art of listening to your body; and later, also to messages from the inner unknown.
Asana and kryia: a dance between breath and movement, a quiet conversation with your inner world.
You are encouraged to listen to your body and take notice on its limits, in order to understand and overcome them. For experienced yogis, the classes offer depth and refinement, a chance to deepen your connection to the practice.
Moreover, the yoga teahers are part of the National Group for the Study and Practice of Yoga (Grupul Național de Studiu și Practică Yoga - GNSPY), which is dedicated to preserving and promoting authentic yoga in Romania . Our activity begins in early '70s and the quality of the teaching was confirmed in the three visits made in those years by Suren Goyal, disciple of one of the four Shankaracharyas.
This connection ensures that the teachings are grounded in tradition while being accessible and relevant for modern life. Our teacher - prof Mario Sorin Vasilescu had dedicated his activity and action to yoga research, finding ways to adapt the oriental and antique teachings to modern western problems and demands
If you have ever felt overwhelmed by the noise of the city or the demands of daily life, Sala Rapsodia offers a sanctuary. It invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with your inner calm.
Yoga is often seen as a solitary practice, but at Sala Rapsodia, it blossoms into a shared experience. The community here is warm and inclusive. After class, it’s common to linger, share a cup of tea, just around the corner, or chat about the practice and life in Bucharest.

In our modern approach, instead of teaching the transnational Yoga that you find in corporate environment, we offer a true universal concept, rooted in the spiritual unity of archaic humanity (studied by Mircea Eliade) and in the universality of the Logos, source of all symbols on wich all the traditions were build
From the opposite - particular, view - we had always a keen interest in the genuine ancient local forms of spiritual teachings and techniques
This sense of belonging is especially valuable for expats navigating a new culture and environment.
Our yoga studio becomes a meeting point, a place where friendships form and support grows. It’s a reminder that yoga is not just about the body but about connection - to ourselves and to others.
We will announce here the yoga practice sessions dedicated to Bucharest expats
