Bahyavrtti
1.Many things of the natural wisdom are lost of our childhood.
We are born with some natural gifts, very valuable gifts, but most are lost in the wrong grind of education and meeting with stress and life dissatisfaction.
2. Among the saddest losses there is also the native breathing , natural, spontaneous, with all its attributes like targeting prevention and balance physically, psychologically, mentally, subtle.
3.The corruption of the psychosomatic harmonyeads to the entrance into a vicios circle that bedevil Psychophysical functions of being.
4. And so we come to invent exercises to awake or remind of the lost. Vak-Yoga says truly : Yoga exercises have the number and the shape of our sins (errors).
5. For example, the baby breathe, then it remains tens and tens of seconds without any respiratory drawings enjoying his feet. After that „well thanks”, it resumes his breathing as if nothing would have happened.
6. This halt of the natural breathing which it installs itself in the end of breathing is in the same time a crucial moment and an instrument in forging the future being - physical, psychological and mental energy.
7. As a great observer of nature, yoga has recorded this loss proposing instead an exercise as simple, so effective on , Bahyavrtti or Sunyaka.
Leaving the strict translation for the second part of the article, we take the pragmatic meaning into account: post-expiratory pause.
8. Technology: Bahyavrtti passive, spontaneous.
With ither words, by itself - for this the first phase.
Position: In general, lying down. Depending on situation and health problems we can work seated on a chair or lying on one side of the body. If we choose lying down then we arrange the limbs symmetrically. Feet are slightly apart, with tip feet fell sideways and heels are glued (if possible).
Hands are palms up, slightly away from your body and elbows are in contact to the ribs; chin plunge slightly toward the neck to to stretch the scruff on the ground. [We can put a folded towel under the head. At first the position it is apparently uncomfortable, but through acceptance it becomes by itself really relaxing and restful.]
9. We await by simply passing the time to settle and to melt our uptights and tension. Then without fighting with the thoughts, directed as much as we can of our attention, to own breathing. Moreover, when the body reaches a first level of quiet, almost effortlessly we become aware of the existence of breathing. Keep into your consciousness a key phrase that will have to look seriously in the future:
INSIDE ME IT BREATHES
I am not the one who (in my ignorance) breathe, but inside me simply „it is breathing „.The more you feel that this statement will amazes you, and shine you, the better. You are on the right track. We will come back.
Observe your breath as such it belongs to another one. Whatever it might do, however it show do not interfere, do not implied in it. The breath it is the Teacher, not you. Agree it the show, cycle exhale-inhale. The air comes out. The air come in by itself.
10. And, at some point, you will find that like once expired is finished, inspired seems would not rush to follow it. Furthermore- especially if not looking and do not hunt breathing, but let it just happen- after exhale it installs by itself a suspension, a "silence "of breathing. At first can be a second, and then it could be increasingly long - two, three, even five seconds. After that all by itself, „cor to inspire” and we will leave us to spontaneous inspired. And again ... again and again.
Return: Stay as long as you want (or can) and finally wake up just like from a restful and recreating sleep. Sigh, groan, yawning.
11. Not by words, but trough experience you feel what a leisure of peace, melting, relaxation, silence an also what a meeting with ourselves it is offering in moments of natural suspension of breath. Unknown barriers seem to dissolve at this moment and fear and anxiety disappear. And we are like flowing into ourselves discovering us like never before, with the condition that we should not search, but only to accept this gift.
Lets offer us one or two Bahyavrtti (Sunyaka) per day.
It worth more than the greatest prozac (the strongest known anxiolytic). Without forgetting the normalization of blood pressure, neurovegetative balance, harmonize intracellular. And especially peace of mind and soul. Paraphrasing Andre van Lysebeth, only the relax man can find the new and freedom, the one who is in tension discover just new tensions and new reasons for uptight. Where the hearth urge you?
P.S. Although this exercise is dedicated to debutantes, it is recommanded to more experienced practitioners in yoga.
